Customized Firing with Attachments

The toy gun's sophisticated design features elaborate orange-and-gray detailing and measures more than 3 feet long with attachments. Strip down the gun for close-quarters combat, or customize it with attachments for long-range firing. The removable shoulder stock, barrel extension, and targeting sight improve shooting accuracy, and there's even a flip-down bipod support to aid in balance while shooting from the floor.

Soft Splat Ammo

The gun uses soft splat paper ammo that is designed for safety and performance. These small pellets are aerodynamic in shape and transform into soft tactical ammo after soaking in water for 10 seconds. Once fired, the ammo retains its shape in flight and impacts its target with a soft splat.

Unlike traditional foam projectiles, soft splat paper ammo is biodegradable, offering a non-staining composition for easy cleanup.

Shoots Up to 100 Feet

With its advanced power piston operation, the gun is capable of firing ammo up to 100 feet. The gun holds up to eight rounds of ammo in a quick-loading cartridge. A realistic bolt action lever preps each round in the chamber, while a powerful pull-and-release pump handle fires them away. With safety in mind, the gun comes with a pair of tinted mission glasses to protect the eyes.

Our tester found that the gun's pump handle often misfires. Similarly, the soft splat ammo is prone to sticking in the cartridge, requiring frequent clean outs. Our tester also found that most pellets do not travel more than 75 feet.

Still, our tester found the Shadow Hawk 100 to be a significant step up from conventional foam-pellet toy guns. Its sleek good looks and customizable design are impressive, and its unique ammo travels far.

This toy is incredible!!! It shoots so far... I actually think it shoots over 100 feet! The accuracy is also great, especially at shorter ranges. I would definitely recommend this. It's so much better than NERF guns. I have to say that I disagree with the other review. This toy is awesome!

This gun has a definite aesthetic value, which is why I chose it over a Nerf. The ammo definitely has potential, as well. Unmodded, it has lots more range and accuracy than a foam dart. True the paper ammo is only one-time use, and may be a bit of a hassle keeping moist in battle, but the benefits outweigh the negatives, in my opinion.

I was first disappointed at the lack of a trigger; it should be required for a precision weapon like this. The pull and release system can be taxing on accuracy, and I can see it tiring ones arm out while holding for a shot or in a long battle. Secondly, it was nighttime so I messed around with it in the house and was dry-firing it, which the manual said nothing about being bad. Unfortunately, it jammed after about 4 shots. Something obviously went wrong inside because I heard a pretty bad grinding noise as it locked up. The manual wasn't too big of a help in remedying my particular problem, and I ended up destroying the whole firing... Read more

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
I selected this gun for my 11 year old son. I expected something more like an air soft pellet gun. This is a little different. But, we are not disappointed.

The gun has a long range. I'm not sure it would actually reach the 100 feet the package promises, but it does have quite a bit of range when fired into our back yard. It has a fun, cool look with an extender piece and two pieces that fold down to make it tripod like a sniper rifle. My son was impressed.

The pellets are called "soft splat." This was a little deceiving as I let him shoot my hand (before he shot one of his sisters), and it was still quite painful. I imagine it is not as bad as the plastic air soft pellets, but it wasn't pleasant. The pellets look like old timey spit wads when they are wet and come out of the gun. They make quite a mess when shot in the house. Of course, the plastic air soft pellets are a mess in the house too when there are thousands of them rolling around the... Read more
