I looked at some others and didnt want the automatic/battery operated squirt guns. I wanted a good ol' pump action super soaker type which this one is. This water gun works for me the spray/stream is decent and goes a good distance (i'd say 20 feet) which is good enough to get someone but still far enough away from getting hit by them. I like that it sprays as you pump vs. pump action to build up pressure then squeezing a trigger. The bottle it comes with is fairly small so i didnt like it because it was empty after 12 or so sprays. The gun itself can take any standard coke bottle/water bottle type so replacing is a breeze if you dont like the use of the small one it comes with. I used a 2 Liter coke bottle just to see....and it worked fine...but the only thing with using a bottle that big is that you will have to use some forearm support to keep the gun level which may be a problem for little ones. Attached a 2 liter bottle to it which is fine for an adult but may be a bit much for my 8 year old. A 16 once bottle is perfect. The bottle that comes with it is 10 ounce and fine but a bit small. Good for 12 shots. I paid with tax 19.49 for a 3 pack set. The box says "Only at Toys r us". It was the last one and there were plenty of other Super Soakers so I assume this was a big seller. IMO without much use is that this is a excellent deal. 3 of them for 19.49 assures me I'm good for the summer and that 3 will go a long way. The $25 Soaker I bought last year broke after a few hours of play this year. In all fairness it spent the entire winter in my deck in the MD cold and some snow so I'm sure that weaked the plastic but I'm not confident it would have lasted anyway.
