It requires no pumping beforehand, you just push the handle forward, then pull it back to fire a blast of water. However, there is a catch to this, as this Supersoaker has lower ranges than the Supersoakers which are pumped before firing. But, the water blast from the Shot Blast has a spread to it like a shotgun, which allows you to hit your targets easier.Another excellent feature of this Supersoaker is the ability for you to customize it with NERF blaster accessories. You can detach the original stock for the sawn-off look, or replace it with a Raider CS-35 or a Recon CS-6 stock. In addition, the Shot Blast has two tactical rails on it, allowing you to use most NERF accessories such as scopes. You can even clip a Strikefire/Crossfire blaster to it for dart blasting capabilities. Also, the Shot Blast scope included is compatible with NERF blasters that have a tactical rail on them.
