3.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for small kids; short on power for older ones, June 3, 2012

I own (and am reviewing) several Nerf Super Soaker models because this line of guns (blue and white with orange accents) offers the best combination of durability, ease of operation, and affordability that I've come across. They are much more durable than the flimsy plastic used in most other squirt guns, and their water reservoirs have nice screw-on caps that don't leak! If you shop around, you can also find great prices on the simplest models, which are some of the best in the line up.

About the Super Soaker ELECTRO STORM (shotgun) model:

This is a very nice gun for young kids. My two-year-old daughter loves it and can hold her own with much older kids because the trigger is easy to pull and the gun itself, even when full of water, is not too heavy. It takes 4 AA batteries and shoots a steady stream out to about 12 feet. If you hold the trigger down, it will shoot a continuous stream for 32 seconds until the reservoir is empty. Since my daughter tends to hold... Read more

it is a great gun. it last for about 30-35 seconds of continuos fire, only about 20 seconds less than the 10 oz. thunderstorm. i'm taking mine back for another electrostorm, as mine does not have the range it should. overall, great sidarm, and with no pumping, it leaves you free to wield 2 of them. it is a bit heavy for its size, so i would only recommend dual-wield for kids 12 and up. the only thing that could make it better is if the built-in mini-clip was not built in, then they could sell more and you could rapidly refill it with extra mini-clips.

5.0 out of 5 stars pure awesomeness, July 17, 2012

it is amazing. it does not have much range, but it works quite well for my needs. it couldn't hold it's own, but it's definetly a good backup, especially with 2, and it is not bulky, so you can aim it around, above or under things with ease, and it won't slow you down, both advantages i exploit to devastating effect. it says it lasts for about 15 seconds of continous fire. in truth, it lasts for approximately 30-45 seconds, almost as long as a 10 oz. clip on the thunderstorm, and it only has 2.6 oz. i don't know how it does it, but it does. I definetly recommend it. for those of you who say the microburst is better, would you water have a gun that last for only 4-7 shots (trust me, i have one. and while i do like it, i recommend the electrostorm more), or a still portable gun that lasts 30-45 seconds of Continuos fire?

P.S. the microburst is best for quick sneak attacks, because, unlike the electrostorm, it is small enough to be held in a pocket, although it only lasts a... Read more
